There are three standard points of entry into QEGS: Year 7, Year 10 and Year 12. We also welcome students to QEGS in any year group at various stages throughout the academic year. For further information about your child attending QEGS, please contact Mrs A Robinson to arrange a visit, a tour, even a taster day.
QEGS is a popular 11-18 Academy School whose Governing Body, as the Admissions Authority, has responsibility for determining the Admissions Arrangements. Our Admissions Policy has been agreed by the Local Authority.

All admissions to the academy are processed through Derbyshire County Council.
Parents of Year 6 students will be informed in early September on the process for secondary school applications by their Junior School. It is vital that Parents adhere to the deadline date for completion of their application, which is normally 31 October. There is no guarantee of a place at the academy and all places are allocated according to our Admissions Policy which has been approved by the Local Authority.

If you are moving into the area and would like to find out more about the school and to arrange a visit, please contact Mrs A Robinson, who will also advise and assist you with the admissions process – this will involve contacting the Admissions & Transport Team at Derbyshire County Council on 01629 537470, or you can log onto the DCC website for instructions on how to apply online.
If there is no place available in the academy and your application is refused, you will need to follow the Appeals Process.
