Sixth Form leavers celebrate another set of strong results

Our sixth formers are preparing to go to top universities after receiving their A Level and BTEC results.

Scott Garrity, Headteacher, Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, said: “Replicating last year’s success, this year’s results highlight the strength of our culture, the depth of our support and the consistent excellence of our teaching.

“This year has seen another fantastic set of results with most students achieving the grades they need to progress to university, apprenticeships and further education and training.”

“Our goal is to prepare our students for life beyond school so they can succeed in the next stage of their lives. It is an incredibly exciting and emotional time of the year as students reap the rewards of their hard work, commitment and perseverance and look to the future.”

“On behalf of everyone at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School I would like to congratulate our sixth form leavers on some fantastic results. We are very proud of them.”

Altogether 106 students sat exams including A Levels with some young people studying BTEC vocational diplomas. Results highlights include:

  • 48% of A Level students gained at least one A* or A grade.
  • Average points per entry is 37, expressed as a grade this means the average grade for a student is a B.
  • 99.2% pass rate in all A Level courses.
  • 58% of all entries were graded A*- B, which is an exceptional achievement.
  • 100% pass rate in all BTEC courses.
  • 91% of all BTEC students achieved at least one distinction or distinction star ( D*) in their BTEC qualifications which is an increase from the 89% achieved in 2024.
