Remembrance Assemblies

This week students have attended an assembly for Remembrance 2022. Mrs Ward-Argument, Mr Bembridge and Mr Brell Ewart, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire and President of Ashbourne Royal British Legion, shared stories of the importance of remembrance and the history of the poppy. Students heard Alasdair in Year 12 beautifully playing the Last Post and Reveille and they observed a 2 minute silence as a sign of respect for members of the armed forces who have suffered in past and recent conflicts. Students have been encouraged to wear a poppy this week as a sign of remembrance. Also, a reminder of the Remembrance Day Parade in Ashbourne from 10am
on Remembrance Sunday, 13th November.
