Remembrance Art Installation

QEGS ECO Council use recycled plastic bottles to produce an amazing Remembrance Art Installation

The poppy display was the product of the thoughtfulness, hard work and creativity of our dedicated Environmental (ECO) Council. The project was led by Penelope G (Y13), the Head of Environment on the Sixth Form Council, along with the help and support of some other students Meri, Caris, Harriet, Angela, Annabelle and Emily in the Sixth Form and in the younger year groups. The poppies were fashioned using recycled plastic bottles and were meticulously created individually by hand over the past few weeks. The display has been extremely well received by fellow students, staff and visitors to the Sixth Form Centre and all have commented on its impactful aesthetics and its poignance in commemorating Remembrance Day 2020. We are incredibly proud of the efforts of our students, particularly their proactive and independent approach to recognising such an important day both nationally and locally. The eye-catching installation will remain on display throughout the month of November. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank all the students involved in the project for their time and efforts.

Head of Sixth Form
