I joined QEGS as a Physics Teacher after moving to Derbyshire, following 15 years of studying and working in London. During that time, I completed my Physics degree at Imperial College, spent several years as a management consultant and IT contractor, and eventually retrained as a teacher — with the occasional break for travelling adventures in places like Canada and New Zealand.
I was lucky enough at school to be part of a community that encouraged involvement in sport, music and STEM, and it’s a joy to now work in a school that values those same opportunities. I try to get involved wherever I can: singing or playing in concerts, leading school trips (from universities to Greece, CERN and even Russia), cheering on students at matches and shows, joining in with STEM events, and meeting the Olympic legends who have come to speak to our students!
Alongside teaching Physics, I’m part of the Senior Leadership Team with whole‑school responsibility for outcomes, data and timetabling. I’m also linked with Year 11 and line manage the English and Maths departments, as well as the cover and data teams.
