Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your support and cooperation today.

We have had specialist contractors onsite all day along with our site and IT teams. Collectively, they have been able to repair and restore power and functionality to 95% of our site. There remains some machinery and equipment without power. However, this will not affect the safe running of the school and so we will be fully open to all students in all year groups tomorrow, Tuesday 14th October.

Kind regards,
Mr S Garrity
Headteacher

Dear Parent/Carer,

Thank you for your support and patience. The power cut and faults we experienced at 3pm on Friday were caused by the local main supply and out of our control.

Our site and IT teams have been at school with National Grid engineers all weekend. They have managed to restore power and functionality to parts of the site. However, there are two large areas of the site still without power, lighting and heating. Our broadband and WiFi are fragile but currently working.

Due to having reduced site space and capacity, and to enable further repairs and assessment of our health and safety limitations, we have taken the decision to reduce student numbers onsite tomorrow, Monday 13th October:

  • Onsite will be Y7, Y8, Y11, Y12 & Y13.
  • Learning at home (work set by staff) will be Y9 & Y10.

Teachers will set work for Year 9 and Year 10 students to complete at home. All tasks will be shared through Go4Schools and sent to students’ school email accounts, ensuring they can easily access their learning on either platform.

We apologise for the disruption to those students not onsite tomorrow and we aim to restore full functionality and full site safety as soon as possible.

Please check your emails and the school website for further updates late tomorrow afternoon.

Yours faithfully,

Scott Garrity
Headteacher
