Huge success in athletics at the weekend!
On Saturday, 8th July 2023 we took our intermediate girls team to Chelmsford, Essex to the National Final of the Track and Field Cup with a very difficult 5:30am departure time. It was so worth it as they achieved joint 7th place out of 13 teams – the best result we have ever had at a National Final. This is only the 4th time QEGS have qualified for the final round after winning our county and regional rounds. This group of girls have worked exceptionally hard all season on their events and been so focused. They are a credit to our school and this town and we could not be more proud of their achievements. We finished the competition on a real high when our relay team comfortably won their race after some seriously smooth, well-rehearsed changeovers. Well done girls on being part of QEGS history!
