Congratulations to our QEGS students who recently competed at the Derbyshire County Swimming Championships. The annual event, where the top swimmers from across the whole of Derbyshire compete, took place over 2 weekends. Elena A (Year 12), Connie H (Year 9), Daniel M (Year 8), Isabella M (Year 10), Jacob B (Year 7) and Jess W (Year 9) all qualified through many hours of training and determination at Ashbourne & District Swimming Club. Every swimmer achieved new PB’s, plus Daniel M was awarded the overall 2nd place silver medal for 14yrs 400m IM and also overall 3rd place bronze medal for 14yrs 200m butterfly. Isabella M was awarded overall 2nd place silver medal for 16yrs 200m breaststroke. Ashbourne & District Swimming Club is currently welcoming new members, catering to all levels of swimmers, for fitness, social, or competitive swimming.
