Remote Learning

Where to go for remote learning when you are at home

Scenario: You are in school full-time along with your class

Where to go for work:

  • In lessons.
  • Teachers are also sharing resources from lessons.
  • See your year group overview for where to find the resources.
  • Homework will still be set on GO 4 Schools. See student guide to GO 4 Schools.

Scenario: You are at home, but the rest of the class is in school

Where to go for work:

Departments and teachers are uploading lesson resources, links, booklets etc to Teams on a regular basis to help you to keep up at home. See your year group overview for where to find the resources (in most cases this is a Team).

Work will not be sent via GO 4 Schools or email, except for regular homework, so you will need to log on to the school system and Teams regularly for updates (see the guide below).

Click for Microsoft Teams Guide for QEGS Students

The work could include:

  • Lesson PowerPoints and worksheets
  • Lessons from high quality external resources such as Oak National Academy

See your year group overview for where to find the resources (in most cases this is a Team). You may need to check your book for that subject and use the lesson overview to figure out which lesson to do next.

If you have any questions about the work, email your class teacher or post in the Team. Your teachers will reply as soon as possible, but this may be after lessons finish at 2:30pm.

Scenario: You are out of school with your year group or class for a period of time (e.g. two weeks)  OR  All students at home.

Where to go for work:

You will be set remote work to complement the work in class. See your year group overview for where to find the resources (in most cases this is a Team).

You will be set work for every lesson, including the following:

  • Year 7, 8 and 9 – at least one interactive lesson out of every 3 with a specialist teacher.
  • Years 10 and 11 – at least one interactive lesson per week with your class teacher.
  • Years 12 and 13 – The majority of your lessons will be interactive, or you will have a combination of live lessons and small group tutorials

Interactive lessons could be a video from a teacher with live chat to ask and answer questions, a Teams Meeting or a Teams Live Event.

Work will not be sent via GO 4 Schools or email, except for regular homework, so you will need to log on to the school system and Teams regularly for updates (see the guide below).

Click for Microsoft Teams Guide for QEGS Students

The work could include:

  • Lesson powerpoints and worksheets
  • Explanation videos from a subject specialist
  • Lessons from high quality external resources such as Oak National Academy

You may also be issued with a booklet / paper resources in lessons to work on at home, with support from your class teacher.

If you have any questions about the work, email your class teacher or post in the Team. Teachers will usually be available during your usual lesson time, but in some cases they will reply after lessons finish at 2:30pm.

Click for Microsoft Teams Guide for QEGS Students Students will be automatically added to the Teams for their subjects.
