On Wednesday, students from across all year groups at QEGS had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Brailsford Ploughing Match — a vibrant celebration of local agriculture and rural skills.

From meeting representatives of local agricultural businesses to watching live demonstrations of ploughing and hedge laying, the event offered a hands-on insight into the world of farming and countryside careers. It was great to speak with employers and see real-life skills in action! A brilliant way to explore future career paths, network with industry professionals, and connect with our local community. We’re especially proud of the QEGS students who competed in the ploughing and hedge laying competitions — showcasing their talent and enthusiasm for rural crafts!
