We were delighted to welcome back former student Alan Fernihough (Class of 1969), who had kindly loaned his stunning artwork for display in our Main Reception.

After leaving QEGS, Alan went on to earn a Diploma in Art and enjoy a successful career teaching the subject. Today, he continues to inspire others by teaching art to adults here in Ashbourne.

Visitors and students have had the opportunity to admire Alan’s detailed drawings of both the Old School and the current Green Road site. Each piece taking around 40 hours to complete, beginning in pencil before being finished in pen.

A huge thank you to Alan for sharing his incredible talent with our school community.
