QEGS Ski Tip Jan 2026
We managed to pack in six full days skiing enjoying some of the most amazing scenery in the French Alps. For both staff and students, it was a chance to demonstrate resilience and teamwork. It has been a pleasure to see how the students encouraged and supported each other.
In addition to this there were several après-ski activities organised for the students including homemade crêpes, pizza night at a local restaurant, a town-trail orienteering task, the highest table quiz in Europe (courtesy or Mr Bateman and Mr Brown) and of course the legendary ‘Waker Bingo’ night!
Despite some unforeseen setbacks with travel on the way home due to excessive snow, the students were remarkable with both their attitude and conduct, taking it all in their stride. We were all excited when we finally saw our plane getting ready for boarding – especially Mr Bateman and me!
The students have had the opportunity to learn/develop a skill that will last a lifetime and each student came away with a recognised ESF ski qualification. It has been a magical adventure and a privilege to be able provide this opportunity for our students. We are very proud of all of their achievements both on and off the slopes!
Au revoir – until next time from Mrs Brankin and the QEGS ‘staff ski-team’!
