Meet Our Student Leadership Team

At QEGS, we are incredibly proud of our Student Leadership Team – a dedicated group of students who play a vital role in shaping life at our school. They are at the heart of what we do, helping to organise whole-school charity events, contribute to key decisions such as what we sell in our wonderful Student Rewards Shop, and support a variety of important initiatives in and out of school.

Our student leaders meet once a week during lunch to discuss all things #TEAMQEGS — sharing ideas, planning events, and making sure every student’s voice is heard.

At QEGS, Student Voice matters. We believe our students should have an active role in shaping our school community and living out our Vision and Values: we care, therefore we question, we explore, we give and as a result, we succeed!

Student Leadership Roles

Student leaders must conduct themselves as if they are members of staff, acting in a responsible manner so that other students can be positively influenced by them and follow their example.

The students who are entrusted with leadership positions have ideas as to how to help with the continual growth of QEGS. We love to hear your ideas and make them possible!

Our student leaders are given positions of responsibility to help staff in the running of the school. This additional accountability will help to develop your leadership skills and your character as you are exposed to challenging situations.

Some staff members may come to student leaders for advice or support. In this instance, a student leader should do their best to help to the best of their ability.

At QEGS we are proud of our community. We aim to serve our community well, and we wish for our students to be a voice for the school as the staff are. The student leaders show the community what #TeamQEGS is about, through their character.
The student leaders will also be expected to attend the following events in their capacity as a Student Leader:

  • Year4,5& 6 Open Evening
  • Sixth Form Open Evening
  • Parent Consultation evenings.

Having held a student leadership position is incredibly useful when applying for further education and future careers.
Students will be able to show that they are part of the Student Leadership Team by wearing your badge with pride.
This is to show other students who they are, as well as give the students a sense of pride and identity.
