SSAT Leadership Legacy Project
QEGS is successful in securing two SSAT Leadership Legacy Project places
Miss L Allen (Teacher of Mathematics) and Mr K Simnett (Teacher of Business, Economics, and Mathematics) from Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School have both been accepted onto the prestigious Leadership Legacy Project by SSAT, the Schools, Students and Teachers network.
They will join an impressive group of future education leaders from across the country designated as SSAT Leadership Fellows. Leadership Fellows are in their first four years of teaching; their headteachers have already seen their leadership potential. Involvement in the programme demonstrates Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School’s and SSAT’s commitment to developing the next generation of system leaders.
We know that the impact of this project is very impressive. Leadership Fellows enrolled on the project in previous years have achieved increased leadership responsibilities at an early career stage and led significant projects across their schools. The project provides the opportunity for participants to work with experienced leaders and to be supported to lead a project in their school.
SSAT has been designing and delivering school leadership development programmes for over 20 years and has over 14,000 alumni, among them some of the country’s most prestigious education system leaders. SSAT is fully committed to supporting the development of the next generation of system leaders and is investing in this prestigious project, free to member schools.
Scott Garrity, Headteacher said “I am proud to have Laura and Kelvin at QEGS and immensely grateful for the commitment and potential that they offer”.
Kelvin said “It is a great feeling when you get such recognition from your Headteacher and Management Team. SSAT looks like a great opportunity and I can’t wait to meet and work with some other aspiring educational leaders and gain a wealth valuable knowledge that I can use and implement in our school. Thank you for my nomination, I’m looking forward to getting started next year.”
