Writing a description of a beach using pathetic fallacy
“A fringe of lace, with intricate bubbles tap danced on my feet. Bouncing on the thrashing waves, the sunlight led a path to heaven: sand the colour of marmalade, and the cerulean sea clasping angels of light to where sapphires, emeralds and gold lay without a flaw.”
– Iraj (Y7)
“The deep royal blue waves were rolling in at my ankles, as though they were curious to find out what mysterious being had entered their waters. The water reflected a mosaic of colours now as the sun was setting. There was purple and orange and red and the picture created was incredible, as though it was a Picasso or Van Gogh.”
– George (Y7)
An animal poem about an owl
Staring from the midnight sky,
With its fiery, orange, beady eyes,
Wise and free he roams the night,
Faster than the speed of light,
He lands on the roof of a rundown barn,
His swift arrival does no harm,
The animals lay fast asleep,
Then suddenly, he takes a leap,
He swoops right down and claws something brown,
Then silently lands back on the ground,
His head swivels round to look at the house,
And in his beak he has a mouse !
